A Day at a Glance

  • Morning

    After a delicious breakfast, set out on a bicycle tour (on a non-hilly route) through downtown Lisbon to Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing panoramic views of Portugal’s capital city and the Tagus River.

  • Afternoon

    From Belém Tower, head to LXFactory for lunch and to explore the eclectic mix of artisan shops, cafés, galleries and street art. Then put your puzzle-solving skills to the test in a fun and immersive live escape room experience!

  • Evening

    Explore the historic district of Alfama, one of the oldest and most picturesque neighborhoods in Portugal’s capital city, known for its maze-like alleys and historic charm. Enjoy a traditional Portuguese dinner in a local restaurant.

  • Discover Madrid and Lisbon, as you meander through their narrow streets, immersing yourself in centuries of history and marveling at the architecture.

  • Experience the vibrant traditions, diverse cuisine, passionate music and dance, and leave with a profound appreciation for Spanish and Portuguese art and literature.

  • Explore the beaches, caves and the secrets of Benagil when kayaking in the Algarve, take a bike tour along the Tagus River and enjoy a day of beach sports in Carcavelos.

  • Students are provided breakfast and dinner daily throughout the tour. Students have the freedom to purchase their own lunch options.

  • Accommodation includes 3 star hotels, with students typically sharing twin rooms with amenities including private bathrooms during their stay.

Tour Leaders

  • Meet Andrew, a lively PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and Emergency First Response/CPR Instructor who's traveled across five continents over the past 37 years. With 25 years as a senior hotel executive in many different countries, he’s mastered hospitality and even ran his own hotel marketing company for 12 years. Plus, he has 7 years of experience substitute teaching K-12 in northern British Columbia, Canada, connecting with students in a unique way. When he’s not working, you’ll find him sailing, playing rugby, or diving for fun. Andrew’s diverse background brings a fresh perspective to his teaching and inspires everyone around him!

  • Lauren is an accomplished English teacher with 12 years of experience in various locations, including England, Mexico, and Thailand. Educated in the UK, she holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE. Committed to instilling a passion for language and literature in her students, Lauren integrates diverse cultural perspectives into her teaching. Outside the classroom, she enjoys hiking, travelling, horseback riding, and playing tennis, always on the lookout for new adventures and challenges. Her dedication to both her profession and personal pursuits makes Lauren a well-rounded and inspiring educator.
