Our story
Tour leaders Gordon Robertson and Andrew Wilkins formed Robert Student Travel from the very simple idea that travel is the most potent vessel for learning. There is no easy parallel to the joy and enrichment of experiencing a new place or a different culture. Travel excites our senses and shows us not just what curiosities make us unique but the multitude of things we can and often do share in common, whether it is our sense of hospitality, language, history, or the fruits of human creativity, imagination, and ingenuity: cuisine, music, art, architecture, and so much more!
Gordon and Andrew were inspired to provide affordable, fun, safe, quality international student travel experiences led by educators. Gordon has a long history of organising residential trips for year groups in many of the international destinations that he has taught, including Jordan, Kenya, Vietnam, the UK and Ukraine. From creating, organising and supervising travel experiences for students within the international school community to training teachers on best practices for creating and delivering safe, regulatory-compliant educational travel experiences, Gordon brings a passion and experience at the intersection of travel, education, and adventure. As an experienced Business, Geography and Economics teacher, he has relished how engaging travel experiences inspire and augment student learning, enabling them to apply their knowledge in approaching and solving real-world problems.

Therefore, the travel company born is educator-led and dedicated to crafting unique itineraries, partnering with local guides and educational organisations in fantastic destinations all over the world. Why? To create fun, adventurous, immersive travel experiences that promote intercultural understanding and respect. Robert Student Travel aims to transfer knowledge from the destinations that are visited, believing that these firsthand travel experiences can help contribute to better global understanding. Students are our next generation of future leaders.
Our tours offer diverse learning opportunities that include art, culture, cooking, dance, entertainment, geography, festivals, history, language, local traditions and an appreciation for the natural environment and wildlife. Students will develop teamwork skills and cultivate a positive community spirit within our tour groups.
